Makin’ a Maker’s Coin in Tinkercad . . . Well, Kinda

So something I’ve been playing around with for a couple of weeks now is the creations of a “Maker Coin.” Something that I can give to people, send them when they order things, send them when they request one, ya know, something different that will help then remember The Maker Nerd.

Currently, I’m on my fifth iteration of this coin. The last attempt failed completely, and you can tell in the video that I had my doubts it would work. This is the best version I’ve gotten so far,

and it’s not great. You can kind of see the head detail, but the website is lost completely. Also, Part of the problem results from the fact that it’s printed in translucent filament. I absolutely love the ZYLTech filament. It prints great and it’s reasonably priced, but I just don’t think it works for this.

So I had some thoughts about how to change it, and that’s the night I did the live video (first one) on YouTube. Some technical difficulties didn’t help matters any, but I realized right when I was calling it

done that it wasn’t likely to work. ANY suggestions on how I can make this work would be greatly appreciated. There will be a TinkerCad Take TWO live video soon, so let me hear those ideas peeps.

Moving Forward

Everything about this adventure is fascinating and fun and terrifying and new and . . . . I’m really glad I decided to take this leap. For someone who has never liked the sound of their recorded voice, or to see themselves in pictures, much less videos, this has shown me just how much I’ve grown, and just how much growing I have yet to do.

Ok, enough of that. Follow me on social media and throw me some likes and subscribes. LATER!!!!
