The Pressure of Making a Mother’s Day Card

So first, let me acknowledge that not everyone is interested in making a Mother’s Day card for one reason or another, and I respect that. But for me, I have a wonderful relationship with my mom. So of course I wanted to make her something special for Mother’s Day. I’m not the greatest of daughters when it comes to remembering all the holidays, nor do I remember to do the special things I WANT to do. But this year, my determination to make a card, NOT go to the store and buy one, was strong.

The Pressure IS REAL: Mother’s Day Card

But wow, I didn’t realize the pressure of doing this.  Right? If you are going to take the time to make the card, the card needs to be PERFECT . . . or at least I wanted it to be. Now I know what some of you might be saying; I’ve said it time and time again: if you expect something handcrafted to be perfect, don’t buy it. And it’s true. NOTHING handcrafted is nor ever will be perfect. And alas, neither is the card in this How To video. (WARNING: the video is fine when doing the envelop; I just didn’t want my mom’s address on the internet for anyone to abuse, so don’t be trying to adjust your computer or thinking mine screwed up, it’s fine.) While the video may be fine, there are definitely issues with the card. But NO ONE will ever

notice them. Maybe the glue didn’t go on just like I wanted, the colors may not be a perfect/good match (although I like them), or the gold pen doesn’t show up as well as I wanted it to. But these are things only I WILL EVER notice. I often here people say “oh, I could never do that” or “I would be to afraid of messing it up!” Well guess what, I mess up every single project I do in one way or another and it’s ok. NO ONE ever knows unless I tell them. And sometimes I do, but mostly I just let it go.

Materials

I’ve already discussed several of the websites that can be of use to you. But here are some of the other materials.
